Carve from views · paint top, front and side silhouettes

Where the top, front and side views are all painted, the editor fills in voxels; the back view only colours the back. Upload an image to a view to trace it. Mirror applies here too.

How to use the Voxel Editor

  1. Pick a starter shape, load a 3D model, or click the floor to place your first voxel.
  2. Build with Add, Box and Line, and turn on Mirror for symmetrical models.
  3. Recolor faces with Paint, and remove voxels with the Eraser.
  4. Export a .vox, GLB, OBJ or PNG, or render sprites from 8 directions.

Using it in your game

Drop the GLB straight into Godot, Unity or Blender. For a 2D game, render the 8-direction sprites and use the sheet as the character’s facings.

Frequently asked questions

How does the voxel editor work?

Click a face in the 3D view to place a voxel on it (or click the floor to start), with Box and Line tools for big shapes and Mirror for symmetrical models. You can also paint the same shape in the top, front and side views and the editor carves it out, or start from a sword, chest, tree, character or mushroom.

What can I export?

A MagicaVoxel .vox file, a GLB (binary glTF) or an OBJ with vertex colours for Blender and game engines, a PNG of the current view, or the model rendered as sprites from 8 directions (down, down-right, right … down-left) at 32, 64, 128 or 512 px, isometric, top-down or side-on. Only the outer faces are exported, so files stay small.

How big can a model be?

Up to 128 × 128 × 128 voxels. Undo keeps the last 50 steps (fewer on the largest grids).

Can I turn a voxel model into an animated sprite?

Yes. Render the sprites, then Save to library (free with a Voidless account) and animate the saved sprite.

Is it free and private?

Yes. Everything renders locally with WebGL and nothing is uploaded unless you choose Save to library. No account is needed to build or export.
